MK DSS WELCOMED THE VIETNAMESE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS DELEGATION TO ITS FACTORY IN ETHIOPIA

On the afternoon of February 18, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Mrs. Nguyễn Minh Hằng, led a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to visit and work at the ICT Park and MK DSS’s smart card factory, a joint venture between MK Group (Vietnam) and Neuronet (Ethiopia), located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The delegation included Mrs. Nguyễn Phương Trà, Acting Director General of the Department of Middle East and Africa; Mrs. Vũ Thanh Huyền, Ambassador of Vietnam to Tanzania, concurrently overseeing East Africa; Mr. Trần Chí Thành, Deputy Director General of the Department of Economic Affairs, along with other members.

 

On behalf of MK DSS, the delegation was welcomed by Mr. Tsegaye Habtu Teshale, General Director; and Mr. Yidnekachew Bekele, Operations Director. Representing MK Group, Mr. Lê Văn Thao, Deputy Director of MK Smart Factory and Head of MK Group’s working team in Ethiopia, along with MK’s expert team stationed in Ethiopia, also participated in the reception.

 

The delegation visited the smart card production lines, which feature comprehensive solutions from printing, personalization, and quality control to final packaging. With well-invested technology and infrastructure, MK DSS has aimed to become a leading and trusted partner in the smart card industry across Africa and the Middle East. The delegation acknowledged and highly appreciated the dedication of MKers in building and completing Ethiopia’s first smart card factory. They also recognized MK Group’s efforts in market expansion, contributing to the partnership between the two companies and strengthening cooperation between Ethiopia and Vietnam.

 

During the visit, Deputy Minister Nguyễn Minh Hằng emphasized that MK Group's investment in Ethiopia’s first smart card factory serves as a model for Vietnamese enterprises in Africa, a region that has yet to attract significant Vietnamese investment. The delegation also noted that MK Group’s investment activities in Ethiopia align with Vietnam’s strategic direction of expanding markets and exporting make-in-Vietnam high technology solutions.

MK DSS invited the delegates to enjoy coffee in the traditional Ethiopian style.
