On the afternoon of July 30, 2025, the launch event for the Citizen ID Card Management and Usage System was successfully held in Vientiane, Laos. The event was attended by high-ranking officials from both Vietnam and Laos, including General Luong Tam Quang, member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security of Vietnam; General Vilay Lakhamphong, member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Public Security of Laos; and Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam, among other leaders from various Lao ministries and departments.

MK Group was honored to be a strategic partner, collaborating with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to help deploy this crucial system. The project marks a significant step forward in Laos' journey toward building a digital government, digital citizenry, and digital society.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Bao, General Director of MK Smart (a member of MK Group), represented the company at the event and was presented with a commemorative medal. At the ceremony, MK Group showcased advanced smart card and biometric readers to optimize the benefits of chip-based ID cards across various sectors. These solutions not only support efficient citizen identity verification but also enhance transaction security and security surveillance.

According to the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (C06), the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security is collaborating with the Lao Ministry of Public Security to equip and install a complete system of machinery, materials, and equipment from central to local levels. The project also focuses on continuously developing the citizen database to ensure citizen information is "Accurate, Complete, Clean, and Current". They are also processing applications and issuing chip-based ID cards to eligible citizens nationwide, while implementing digital identity applications and services to serve state management, particularly in administrative reform.
